Our Veterinarians
John Huebner, DVM
Dr. Huebner graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis in 1985. He began practicing at Redwood Veterinary Hospital in 1987. His enthusiasm for veterinary medical practice seems to grow with each new year. His areas of special interest are diagnostic ultrasound and surgery. Dr. Huebner’s interests outside the practice are downhill skiing, marathon running, and spending time with his family and pets.
Genever Fox, DVM
Dr. Fox graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis in 1985. She joined Redwood Veterinary Hospital in 1987. Dr. Fox enjoys all aspects of general veterinary practice and in particular enjoys seeing our small mammal and avian patients, dermatology cases, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of the practice, Dr. Fox participates in endurance activities such as distance running and bicycle touring. She and her husband currently share their household with one dog, Maggie, and two cats, Sid and Riley.
Erin Wright, VMD
Although a California native, Dr. Wright graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Fresh out of school, she joined the Redwood team in 2004. Dr. Wright enjoys all aspects of canine and feline medicine and has a special interest in veterinary dentistry. She also enjoys fostering the unique bond that exists between people and their pets. She lives with her husband, daughter, and two feline “kids,” Mango and Clio.
April Hildebrand, DVM
Dr. Hildebrand graduated in 2004 from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis. She practiced for several years in the Napa area before joining the Redwood Veterinary Hospital team in February 2007. From the time she was in junior high school, Dr. Hildebrand knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and began volunteering in animal-related professions at this early age. Her love for animals continues to grow, and she now focuses her interest on dog and cat medicine. When not at work, Dr. Hildebrand is busy playing with her orange tabby cat, Chester; her Chihuahuas, Petey and Princess; and her dachshund, Winnie. She also keeps busy chasing around her sons, Ethan and Ryan. Her interests outside of work include spending time with family and friends, gardening, and home improvements.
Brian Veltri, DVM
Dr. Veltri grew up on Long Island, New York, and he is a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis. He is very excited to be a part of the medical team at Redwood Veterinary Hospital. Having worked in an animal hospital since he was in high school, Dr. Veltri knew that a career as a veterinarian was his dream. After graduating from college, he moved to California and completed a master’s degree in animal nutrition before starting his veterinary medical training. Dr. Veltri has an interest in all aspects of canine and feline medicine, but he has a special interest in nutrition. When not working, Dr. Veltri enjoys camping, skiing, wine tasting, and spending time with his wife, a fellow veterinarian, and their two sons, two dogs, and two cats.
Elizabeth (Lisa) Hu, DVM
Dr. Hu was born and raised in Hong Kong, but oddly still needs a lot of work on her Chinese. She moved to California for college followed by veterinary school. She graduated from University of California Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, and soon after joined Redwood Veterinary Hospital’s team. In Dr. Hu’s spare time she loves to go swimming, play ultimate Frisbee with friends, play music, and most of all hang out with her husband George, dog (Alfalfa), and 2 kitties (Tomato and Ziggy).
